Some Images from around Oslo

Here are some images from around town. The first is swimming in Oslo. THere are a series of islands that you can get to by ferry and go swimming when it seems like the temperature would be right. We went out there in June when it was quite warm. It isn't warm now and I haven't needed shorts for a while.

That is me relaxing on the ferry ride back to town. And, no, we did not go swimming. In June the water was still too cold as far as we were concerned.

This is a photo of the harbor area (Oslofjord). On the left is a floating castle, on the right is a castle. The castle is really the original fort (Akerhus). The juxtaposition was just too much to ignore.

This is from the Akerhus castle looking over the harbor. You can see the hills around Oslo (to Norwegians from other parts of Norway these are not mountains - to us they seem a lot more significant - especially when you are hiking!)
